The MN Association of Charter Schools Charter School Leader Award is designed to recognize individuals who have demonstrated a record of successful leadership of a charter school in Minnesota.
Friends of Education Congratulates Jason Ulbrich, Executive Director of Eagle Ridge Academy, 2020 Charter Leadership Award Winner!!
Over the past 8 years, Jason has transformed how staff work together, set high standards for effective governance, and doubled the school’s enrollment while bringing significant diversity to the student body. His focus is on ensuring that Eagle Ridge is data-driven with an unrelenting commitment to excellence, and Jason is a sought-after consultant with charter school leaders both in Minnesota and nationally in the area of professional development. The school’s Classical Teacher Certificate Program is cited by his board “as the largest and most ambitious example of his support for professional learning."

Letter of Intent Due: October 1, 2026, for a January 2027 application submission.
Applications Due: January 14, 2027. Applications are submitted through Friends of Education's application portal.
